Poetry and prose for children and kids.
Animal Poems for children; A colection of humourous poems all relating to animals and aimed at children of all ages.

Cow

 The cow says, “Moo, moo,
I have some milk for you”.

I never saw a purple cow.
I never hope to see one.
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!

This little cow eats grass,
This little cow eats hay.
This little cow drinks water.
This little cow runs away.
And this little cow does nothing,
But lie and sleep all day.
MOO!

How come a cow
Never says "Ow!"
Whenever there's milking to do?
It doesn't say "Ow!"
For it pleases the cow,
So instead, the cow says "Moo!"

Dog

 Puppy.

Puppy, puppy, come to me,
Let us play under the tree.

I have a dog,
His name is Jack.
His head is white,
His ears are black.

Jack.
I have a little dog
And his name is Jack
His head is white
And his ears are black.

My dog.
My dog is clever, strong and quick,
It's name is Spot, my name is Nick.
My dog is nice, my dog is gay,
We play together every day.

Ducks
Once upon a time, a time
Father duck and Mother duck
To the lake they went.
And said “quack-quack, quack-quack”
All the children yellow balls.
Went behind them in the rows
They were happy and they sang a little song.
They are happy swimming in the lake,
They are very happy and we are
Dancing with you today.

Father Duck goes for a swim,
And Mother Duck comes out with him.
And behind them, clean and trim,
Seven little ducklings swim.
Seven little yellow balls!
“Quack, quack, quack”, the mother calls.
What a pretty sight they make
Swimming on the sunny lake!

Ducks are lucky
Don't you think?
When they want to
Take a drink,

There's a little white duck (quack)
Sitting in the water.
A little white duck (quack)
Doing what he ought to
He took a bite of a lily pad,
Flapped his wings and he said,
'I'm glad I'm a little white duck
Sitting in the water.'

Quack, Quack, Quack.

M. Goldish

Duck in the water, quack, quack, quack!
Soft, white feathers on your back, back, back!
Duck in the water, splash and splish!
Dip in your bill and catch those fish!
Duck out of water, walk on land.
Your webbed feet make it hard to stand!
Waddle with your family, waddle in a pack.
Duck out of water, quack, quack, quack!

Avelyn Davidson

One duck, two ducks, splashing in a pool.
Three ducks, four ducks find the water cool.
Five ducks, six ducks want to stay and play.
Seven ducks, eight ducks love a rainy day.
Nine ducks, ten ducks, all with wings outspread,
Shake their shiny feathers and waddle off to bed.
